A little about me
John (Buzz) was born in Nedlands and educated at Dalkeith Primary and Scotch College. Completing his Teacher’s Certificate at Claremont Teacher’s College, he spent the first couple of his working years at Balga Primary School.
John enjoyed considerable success as a player for Claremont Football Club (Life Member ) as a player in the 1964 Premiership side and a winner of the “Sandover Medal” in 1967. During his football career he also became one of WA’s pioneers of containerised waste disposal. He then went on to found a wholesale distribution business with branches in Perth, Sydney, Melbourne and Adelaide which became one of Australia’s leading suppliers to the “cut and sew” industry. This family business, known as Parkinson & Mann, was sold in 2008 and since then John has enjoyed being involved in the Real Estate Industry with a range of property developments including recent residential villas in Swanbourne.
After he retired from football his sporting interests included horse racing (serving for 2 years on the WATA Committee and a current member of the VRC ), boating ( current member of RPYC ) and a 42 year member of Cottesloe Golf Club ( including terms as Club Captain and President ).
To now be bringing his extensive sales and project management experience to the innovative and vibrant team at Nook Property is a very fulfilling addition to over 50 enjoyable years in a range of business activities.
